1. Scope and operator

19LAB operates the yomimile reading journal and this website. This policy explains how we handle personal and related information. Use our contact form for questions.

2. Information and purposes

Book titles, authors, ISBNs, cover references, finish dates, notes, goals and page progress are saved on your device to provide records, the bookshelf and calendar. The initial release has no app account or cloud sync. Purchase identifiers, products, transactions, renewals, expiry and refund status are processed to provide Premium, restore purchases and prevent misuse. Apple handles payment details; we do not receive card numbers. App activity, recorded book counts, search duration, search, scanning and purchase errors, app/device information and analytics identifiers are used for improvements and troubleshooting. Analytics events do not contain search queries, book titles or notes. Search queries, ISBNs and connection information such as IP addresses are sent to book-information and cover providers. Barcode scanning uses the camera; camera footage is not sent to our server. Contact information includes the email address, optional name, message and any supplied materials, for replies, verification and resolving issues. Hosting providers may process IP addresses, requested pages, timestamps and browser information for delivery, security and operation. Information with persistent identifiers is not treated as wholly anonymous.

3. External services

RevenueCat processes user identifiers and purchase information for entitlements and restoration. PostHog processes analytics identifiers, events and technical information; app analytics currently use its US service. Apple handles purchases and subscriptions. openBD and Open Library (Internet Archive) receive book queries/ISBNs and deliver metadata or covers; image hosts also receive connection information. Formspree processes form details and technical information through 19LAB’s shared inbox, labeled yomimile. Vercel hosts this website. Information may be processed outside Japan depending on the provider. We select and supervise providers and provide information as required by applicable law. We do not sell personal information or disclose it to third parties except as permitted by law, for outsourced processing or with consent. Book providers may retain request URLs, queries, ISBNs and IP information for operation, security and search-quality improvement. Retention differs by provider; we do not promise that searches are never stored. TestFlight builds 13 and earlier used Google Books; builds 14 onward do not. Please update old test builds.

4. Storage and security

Reading records, goals and progress remain on this device. Device failure, resetting or deleting the app may cause record loss. Export important records as CSV; import and restoration from CSV are not supported. Purchase, analytics and contact information is processed by external services for the stated purposes. We use access controls and communication safeguards appropriate to the information. Information may be retained as necessary for legal obligations, fraud prevention, enquiries or disputes.

5. Your choices

Edit or delete reading entries in the app. Deleting all device data in Settings removes local records and settings and cannot be undone. For access, correction, deletion or restricted use of purchase, analytics or contact information, use our contact form. We may verify identity and explain any required retention, in accordance with applicable law. Deleting the app or its data does not cancel a subscription. Cancel through Apple’s subscription settings. Restoring purchases does not restore reading records.

6. Cookies and external links

This website has no first-party advertising cookies or analytics SDK. The app stores settings and purchase/analytics identifiers locally; these are not website cookies. When you follow links to Amazon or other services, their policies apply. Some book links in the app are affiliate links.

7. Younger readers

Minors should review this policy with a parent or guardian and obtain any necessary consent. When recording a child’s reading, avoid unnecessary personal details such as names, schools or addresses in notes. Questions about children’s information can be sent through our contact form.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as features or laws change. Important changes will be announced in the app or on this website, and consent obtained where required. Operator: 19LAB. Contact us using the form below.
